Why This Website Exists

Yes, it is because of books, both good and bad.

But, it is also about ideas and which ones make us a better nation. There are times I truly believe this country has gone crazy. Then, at other times, I see glimmers of hope. But lately, there is never a time when I’m not worried. I vote, pay my taxes and obey the law. But I’ve often wondered what else I could do to stem the tide of progressive policies and liberal stupidity like Critical Race Theory, defunding the police, and progressive district attorneys that won’t prosecute crime.

The only pertinent skills I possess are writing, teaching, and a bit of website design. This site is the culmination of those skills. However, I soon realized that the world is full of problems and I couldn’t focus on all of them. Where could I be the most effective? After some reflection, I decided to write about what I already read and studied. Perhaps no one would read my rants but I found the writing to be cathartic. So, at least my blood pressure is lower.

Below are the areas that I’ll focus on.

1. Books and Reading

To have a well-educated and free population you must be able to read and have access to books that promote freedom. I am always reading and occasionally reviewing books but this has always been a pastime or for self-education. However, recently someone asked me to review Stamped for Kids and, after reading it, I concluded that it should not be in any taxpayer-supported library. Soon, parents began asking me to review other questionable books and several conservative authors contacted me asking for a review. I now have a stack of books I’m planning to read and review on this site.

2. Education

Related to the issue of books and reading is the topic of education. A proper education is essential for the future prosperity of the nation. To facilitate that success, taxpayer-funded grade schools should be focused on reading, writing, math, and history. In the higher grades, STEM subjects should be added. Within the topic of history should be the study of the Declaration of Independence and the Constitution. Taxpayer-funded schools should not be promoting woke ideology, including the LGBTQ agenda, the 1619 project, equity, and CRT outcomes.

Some will say that public schools are vital to the future of this nation—but that just isn’t true. A well-educated population is vital to the future of the nation and for the last few generations, most public schools have not promoted good education. Therefore, the money that parents pay in education taxes should follow the student to whichever public, private school, or homeschool the parents choose. This site will expose progressive nonsense in education and be an advocate for school choice.

3. The Founding Documents

Americans should have a deeper understanding of The Declaration of Independence, The Constitution, and the Bill of Rights. The Founding Fathers knew exactly what they were writing when they pledged their lives, fortunes, and sacred honor to it. As Benjamin Franklin later said, “We must all hang together, or, most assuredly, we shall all hang separately.” They had started a revolution for freedom and they would need to defeat the greatest superpower of the age or die trying.
