Who is Kyle?
Kyle Pratt has leaned to the political right since voting for President Ronald Regan. As he struggled with the concepts of faith and conservatism he migrated from Republican activist to neo-conservative, and today feels at home among paleo-conservatives on most issues.
Kyle grew up in the mountains of Colorado. He earned an Associate in Arts degree from Mesa State College in Grand Junction. When money for college ran low he enlisted in the United States Navy as a Cryptologic Technician. That led to a twenty-year naval career.
While on leave, Kyle took a pilgrimage to Israel. There he met Lorraine from Plymouth, Devon, England, and married her the following year. Together they spent the remainder of his military career traveling across the United States from Virginia to Hawaii and onto Guam, Japan, and beyond. Before leaving the military, he earned a Bachelor’s Degree in political science from Regents College, now Excelsior College.
Kyle’s Core Beliefs
America is more than a place; it’s a set of ideas. To be an American is to believe in those ideas.
God, not the government, gives rights. Therefore, they can only be taken away by God. These rights include freedom of conscience and speech.
The government may not abridge the freedom of faith or conscience. Churches should never close at the whim of government bureaucrats.
All people have a right to self-defense. This includes the right to stand your ground before an attacker both at home and in public.
One person, one vote. Unions, corporations, and other non-voting entities should not be allowed to donate to political causes.
I make no apology for my ancestry or my race and I inherit no guilt from them.
People should be judged by the content of their character and the merit of their work.
After retiring from the service, Kyle taught in Washington State and for seven years in an Alaskan Eskimo village. During the long, cold nights of winter, Kyle wrote. In 2013 his novel Through Many Fires rose to become a bestseller on Amazon. He is an award-winning and Amazon bestselling fiction author and conservative blogger.
Kyle is now retired. While he continues to write it is at a slower pace. He lives on a small farm in western Washington State with his wife of over forty years.
