Extraordinary Proof Required
Alex Jones, a radio talk show host, doesn’t like globalists or any group that wants to control humanity. I don’t want that either. Jones uses his radio program, websites, and books to spread his message but, many call him conspiratorial. I’d prefer to avoid that label so, until recently I hadn’t paid much attention to Jones or his favorite targets such as the World Economic Forum (WEF) and Klaus Schwab. The WEF and its progressive, liberal members are convinced that if they ruled the world it would be a better place but are they a real threat?
By coincidence, I finished reading the bestselling second book by Alex Jones, The Great Reset: And the War for the World, as the annual meeting of the World Economic Forum was ongoing. Consequently, I’ve been reading articles about the event in Davos, Switzerland as I write. The book is 246 pages and is published by Skyhorse Publishing and comes with back cover blurbs by Joe Rogan, Steve Bannon, Tucker Carlson, Roger Stone, and others.
Jones writes in a casual, almost conversational style making this an easy read. The first two chapters of the book provide background information. While they introduce Klaus Schwab and globalism to the uninitiated reader, these chapters do not provide the background of either the person or the topic. This left me feeling that Jones almost made a good point—but failed to connect all the dots. For me, the real start of the book was chapter three, titled, “Who’s Responsible for This Garbage?” This chapter discusses the Trilateral Commission and some of its more prominent members. However, even here, where is the connection between the Trilateral Commission and the WEF?
Chapter four is titled, “Then Came COVID-19,” where Jones states that, “I think COVID-19 was a planned attack on civilization by the globalists….” This was the first chapter where I thought Jones made convincing arguments for some level of conspiracy.
The following chapter is devoted to Yuval Noah Harari whom the author calls the “Robocop for the Empire.” According to Wikipedia some of his books, “examine the possible consequences of a futuristic biotechnological world in which intelligent biological organisms are surpassed by their own creations….” Apparently, Harari believes “Homo sapiens as we know them will disappear in a century or so.” Harari has spoken at Davos but I cannot determine that he has ever been a member of the WEF.
Is there a global conspiracy working to reshape the world? As I continued reading, I found the chapters more convincing while continuing to resist the overall idea. Perhaps, the most compelling chapter is the sixth; dealing with what Jones calls the “digital gulag,” which is a cashless society using digital currency and an authoritarian government mandating digital IDs, and a social credit score. Explaining those things is beyond the scope of this book review but they all exist and have been discussed at Davos and in the halls of governments worldwide, including our own. After that, there are chapters on energy and food.
Alex Jones is well known for seeing conspiracies where none exist. He alleges the government either concealed or falsified information about the Sandy Hook Elementary School shooting, the Oklahoma City bombing, the Moon landing, and the September 11th attacks. So, why should I believe him about the World Economic Forum, Klaus Schwab, and globalism? There might be a vast conspiracy operating out of Davos but, extraordinary claims require extraordinary evidence and Jones has provided little.
What do you think of the claims of Alex Jones? Are Klaus Schwab, Bill Gates, John Kerry, and Al Gore part of a World Economic Forum conspiracy to control governments worldwide? What did you think? Tell us in the comment section below.
