The Right Economy

When transgender woman Dylan Mulvaney became an influencer for Bud Light, I wondered how long it would take Jeremy Boreing to start his own craft beer company. That hasn’t happened—yet. Boreing is the CEO of the Daily Wire, a conservative media company we have repeatedly featured on this blog. When Harry’s Razors pulled their advertising from the Daily Wire, Boreing started Jeremy’s Razors, When Disney fired Gina Carano because of her conservative viewpoint, the Daily Wire hired her and started making movies and, when the Hershey Chocolate Company celebrated International Women's Day by featuring a transgender woman, Boreing launched his own brand of chocolate using the IHateHersheys.com domain.

While I applaud the efforts of Jeremy Boreing, he isn’t the only conservative fighting to make a difference. Below are just a few of the companies that proudly proclaim conservative values.

Angel Studios

There are more conservatives working in the film industry than you might think. One such company is Angel Studios. Early on they created DryBar Comedy, a series of clean stand-up comedy routines filmed in Provo, Utah. Now in its tenth season, this has grown into what is billed as “the world’s largest collection of clean stand-up.” Angel Studios has continued with the television series The Chosen (season four now in production), and the animated series The Wingfeather Saga (now in Season two). His Only Son a feature-length film about Abraham and his son Isaac was recently in theaters.

AMAC

The Association of Mature American Citizens (AMAC) describes itself as “vigorously conservative,” and “the conservative alternative to the AARP. The organization was founded in 2007 and has gained support from several conservative figures including Glenn Beck and Mark Levin. AMAC offers discounts on rental cars, hotels, and dining. They also offer information on branded insurance plans, insurance discounts, and Medicare plans and information. Current membership stands at just over two million Americans.

Brave Books

With the advent of Drag Queen Story Hour in libraries and schools across the country, there is a great need for conservative alternatives. Trent Talbot rose to that challenge and founded Brave Books in 2020. According to a Fox News report they have faced pushback from “library staff insisting he’s not welcome at their spaces and incidences involving grown men dressed as drag nuns infiltrating his events and ‘creeping kids out.’” Despite such incidents “hundreds or even thousands of people” have shown up at Brave Book events. We haven’t yet featured the company but, I hope that changes soon.

My Pillow

I’ve always admired people that invest their own money in an idea and go for broke. Often, broke is what happens, but sometimes a Thomas Edison or Elon Musk emerges. Though Mike Lindell may not be a genius like Edison or build Rockets like Musk, he is a true American entrepreneur. He has gone from an apolitical drug addict to an avid Trump supporter with a $50 million fortune. His My Pillow brand now includes My Coffee and My Store.

World Magazine

Time and Newsweek dominated the newsmagazine business for decades after they were founded in the early years of the twentieth century. Today, both magazines are mere shadows of what they once were. Time is bi-weekly and Newsweek publishes a thin weekly edition. It has been said that their decline is part of a change in reading habits. Fewer people read newsprint and more get their news via the Internet. While I don’t think that can be denied both magazines have in recent years tilted more to the left. Today they both write glowing articles about Democrats while denouncing anything conservative. They both endorse Critical Race Theory, Global Warming, and an ever-expanding federal government.

One news magazine that doesn’t fit the left-leaning paradigm is World. Founded in 1986, World is an evangelical Christian bi-weekly newsmagazine. Issues feature both American and international news, book, and movie reviews, cultural analysis, and commentary. In addition to the print magazine, World now includes additional content on its website and several podcasts.

Technology and the Internet

Twenty years ago every significant company on the Internet leaned hard to the left. Today that is changing.

In the social media arena, the situation has changed dramatically. Donald Trump founded Truth Social after being banned from Twitter. The Conservative Alternative (CA) website is on Truth Social because we were shadow banned by Twitter. Then we followed Trump over to his site. Since that time, Elon Musk bought Twitter. He describes himself as a free-speech absolutist and that is one of our values. We are glad to see Musk in command at Twitter. Another conservative social media company is Gab. Founded in 2016, Gab is old by social media standards. The site has built its own infrastructure so that it can’t be taken down as happened to Parler. CA is now active on Twitter, Truth Social, and Gab.

If you want to start moving away from Google and Microsoft products, I suggest the Brave browser and the Duck Duck Go search engine. The companies behind Brave and Duck Duck Go are not necessarily conservative, but they do make privacy a priority.

Have you used any of the products mentioned in this post? Let us know what you think and suggest others in the comment section below.
