My Favorite Streaming Service

Except for the news, I rarely watch network television. With commercials that go on forever, preachy plots, and banal writing, there just isn’t anything for me. Even my news viewing is limited to conservative outlets such as Fox News. For the last few years, I’ve streamed the little entertainment programing I watch. However, services like Netflix, Amazon, and Hulu are increasingly mimicking the woke and banal programming of the networks with gutter vulgarity added in.

I’m sure it doesn’t surprise readers of this website that I watch Fox News. When they offered a free year of their streaming service Fox Nation to veterans, I decided to give it a look. If you haven’t tried the service you may think it is just a streaming version of Fox News. It has that, but it is a growing and evolving service that already offers more. I should probably say at this point that I received no compensation for this article. This is my honest, unsolicited, review.

Fox Nation began in 2009 as an opinion website. In 2018, Fox Corporation announced that Fox Nation would transition to a streaming service and would feature programing not available from Fox News. Allow me to highlight just a few of the reasons Fox Nation has become my favorite streaming service.

Tucker Carlson Today

I’ve respected Tucker Carlson and his angle on paleoconservatism for years. So, his program on Fox Nation was the first thing I watched. On Fox News, Tucker has about four minutes with each guest. He asks a couple of questions, they answer and then it’s, “Thanks for being here.” On Fox Nation, Tucker interviews many of these same people for nearly an hour. I enjoy the thought provoking banter, and the time for added detail, and depth.

Untold: Patriots Revealed

Another show I’ve watched is Untold, hosted by Pete Hegseth, a combat veteran who earned the Bronze Star. The show focuses on lesser known patriots such as Margaret Corbin. Her wartime feats of courage were applauded by General Washington, but today she is almost entirely unknown. Another is Daniel Morgan. Now largely forgotten his wartime exploits inspired the Mel Gibson movie The Patriot.

There are many more shows including, Castles USA, with Jeanine Pirro, War Stories with Oliver North, Crime Stories with Nancy Grace, and The Mark Fuhrman Diaries. There are programs on faith with Charlton Heston, Billy Graham, Pastor Robert J. Morgan, Ainsley Earhardt and others. I’ve also watched several programs on Rush Limbaugh and all of that is still just a sampling.

Cops

As I prepared to do this article I heard that Fox Nation would soon bring back the program Cops. An MSNBC opinion piece by Zeeshan Aleem states that Cops is likely being revived by Fox because it’s “pro-police propaganda.” That quote says a lot about why I don’t watch MSNBC, or other mainstream news channels. I’m thrilled Cops will again be available. I consider it great entertainment that displays the difficulty of policing today, and reinforces the consequences of bad life choices.

Fox Nation is a growing streaming service with a wide variety of shows that respect conservative and Christian values. In the comment section below tell me if you viewed programs on Fox Nation and what you think of them. Also, what do you think of the other streaming channels?
