On the Precipice

As a child, I admired politicians. They were smart people, tackling difficult problems as they served their city, state, or the nation. Then I learned more about history, and read books like 1984, Brave New World, and Fahrenheit 451. I’m much more cynical today. I still respect a few of our leaders, but they must earn that respect. I don’t give it.

Police State is a one-hour, fifty-minute docudrama written and directed by Dinesh D’Souza, Debbie D’Souza, and Bruce Schooley, and stars Nick Searcy and Dan Bongino a former New York City Police (NYPD) officer, who then served as a Secret Service agent, and is now a radio commentator. The film exposes the decline of freedom in the United States and asks the question, “Is the culprit Donald Trump or is it someone else.”

During the opening credits, we see a family preparing for the day and having breakfast. The camera then shifts outside to show the approaching FBI vehicles. The officers announce their presence and then break the door open. They enter with guns pointed at all the family. They arrest the husband, search the home, and leave it ransacked. This was a dramatization so, it could be dismissed unless evidence is presented showing the United States is on the precipice of becoming an authoritarian nation.

The presentation features interviews with Senator Rand Paul, Congressman Jim Jordan, and Troy Nehls along with Kash Patel and Yeonm Park, a 2007 defector from North Korea. Also included are interviews with FBI whistleblowers Kyle Seraphin and Steve Friend, and Health and Human Services (HHS) whistleblower Tara Lee Rodas, alongside interviews with victims and journalists.

Mark Houck is a pro-life father, with a wife and seven children. On the morning of September 23, 2022, 15 dark SUVs rolled up to their home and two dozen heavily armed FBI SWAT members poured out. The agents pointed weapons at every member of the family, even the terrified children. While most of the agents ransacked the home searching for “evidence,” Mark was cuffed, dragged away, and later charged with violating the Face Act, which prohibits using threats or force against anyone seeking “reproductive health services.” Mark faced 11 years in prison and a fine of $350,000 but, in the end, all charges were dropped. Had the arrest been a scare tactic or a political stunt? We will probably never know for certain but it could not have occurred without political support. This blog covered the event in a post titled Face to Face with the FBI.

For me, the most painful interview was with Joseph Bolanos. To seize the 71-year-old man, the FBI raided the Manhattan apartment of his 94-year-old mother. They tossed furniture and drawers about as they searched the apartment. What was Joseph’s crime? He had gone to the January 6th rally. He never stepped inside the capitol building.

“There is nowhere to hide. They have their lists. Are you next?” It frightened me that the film could present so much evidence that the United States is racing down the road to a police state. Every citizen needs to see this film. The film is available online at http://policestatefilm.net.

Dan Bongino often states on his radio program that the next election is the most important ever … and so is the next. Is the American public informed enough to change the direction of our country? I hope this film motivates citizens to become involved. Have you seen the movie? Do you think the nation is on the wrong path? Let us know in the comment section below.
